In this chapter we studied a central systems concept: feedback. We saw that many natural, social and business phenomena are driven by feedback mechanisms. Reinforcing feedback drives growth and decay, whereas balancing feedback seeks goals and restores balance. We practiced drawing feedback structures and saw that there are always the same types of variables at work.
In the next chapter we will be taking a closer look at accumulations and the role they play in creating delays and non-linear relationships, and pretty much making things even more complex.
